Service Status Page

Check whether Control D services are online and subscribe to incident updates.

The Service Status Page at status.controld.com shows whether Control D services are online. It lists current incidents, past incidents, scheduled maintenance, and the recent uptime of each service.

📘

Service status or your own setup?

The Service Status Page shows the health of Control D services for everyone. It does not check your device, browser, or network.

To check how your own device connects to Control D, use the Configuration Status Page at controld.com/config.

When to Use It

Check the Service Status Page first when:

  • DNS queries fail or are slow on more than one device or network.
  • The Control D website, dashboard, or API does not load or returns errors.
  • Analytics or the Activity Log does not show recent data.

If the Service Status Page reports a problem with the affected service, you do not need to change your settings. Follow the incident updates instead. If all services show as online but you still have a problem, use the Configuration Status Page and the other Troubleshooting guides to check your own setup.

Services

Services are grouped into these sections:

  • DNS
    • Organization & Personal: DNS resolvers for Personal and Organization accounts.
    • Free: the Free DNS Resolvers.
  • Website: controld.com.
  • API: api.controld.com.
  • Analytics: one row for each Organization and Personal analytics storage region (Amsterdam, New York, and Sydney). Check the row for the storage region that your account or Organization uses. See Storage Region for more information.

Service States

Each service shows one of these states:

  • Operational: the service is working normally.
  • Degraded: the service works, but with reduced performance or partial errors.
  • Downtime: the service is not available.
  • Maintenance: planned work is in progress.
  • Not monitored: no status data is available for that time.
  • Recovered: the service had a problem and is working again.

The banner at the top summarizes all services. All services are online means that no service has an active problem.

Uptime History

Each service shows a bar for every day in the last 90 days, and its uptime percentage for that period. Point to a day to see whether an incident affected that service on that day, and for how long.

Incidents and Maintenance

  • Previous incidents lists past incidents. Select an incident to see its timeline, the affected services, and each update that we posted.
  • Maintenance lists planned maintenance.

Get Status Updates

Select Get updates to receive incident updates automatically. These options are available:

  • E-mail: receive an email when Control D creates, updates, or resolves an incident. Select Subscribe to specific components to choose the services that you want updates for.
  • RSS: use the RSS feed or the Atom feed in a feed reader.
  • JSON: get the entire status page as JSON for your own monitoring tools.
  • Webhook: receive a request to your URL when Control D creates, updates, or resolves an incident.
  • Slack: paste a Slack incoming webhook URL to receive incident updates in a Slack channel.

Contact Support

If a service shows as online but you still have a problem, contact support. Include the time of the problem with your time zone, and the services that are affected. If support asks for your Configuration Status Page results, send them privately because they contain personal information.
