Disable Profile
Temporarily pause a Profile without deleting its configuration.
What Disable does
The Disable option temporarily stops enforcing this Profile. Its configuration is retained, so you do not need to recreate Filters, Services, or Custom Rules afterward.
This affects every Endpoint that enforces the Profile. Other enforced Profiles, including an Organization's Global Profile, can still apply. Disabling one Profile is not a guarantee that all filtering on an Endpoint has stopped.
Temporarily disable a Profile
- Go to Profiles and edit the Profile.
- Open Profile Options and find Disable.
- Choose 5 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, or Custom. For Custom, select the desired end date and time.
- Turn Disable on.
The dashboard shows a countdown while the Profile is disabled. The Profile resumes when the selected period ends. To resume sooner, turn Disable off.
If the Profile is locked, unlock it before using Disable.
Troubleshooting
Use a short pause to check whether a Profile is causing a problem. Keep the pause brief because its protections are not enforced during that time. DNS answers already cached by an application or operating system may continue to be used until they expire.
See Multiple Enforced Profiles if another Profile is still affecting the result.
