Feature Request: Rule Creation Timestamps and Date-Based Filtering
Hi Control D team,
I’d like to request visible date-and-time timestamps for custom rules, along with the ability to filter rules within a folder by creation date.
I acknowledge that rules can already be sorted by “Last Updated” and “Alphabetical,” and those options are useful. However, displaying the actual date and time a rule was created or last modified would provide additional context that sorting alone does not offer.
I manage multiple rule folders, some containing hundreds of rules. Sometimes I know I created a rule today or sometime last week, but I cannot remember the exact domain. A date filter would help me find it without manually combing through the folder.
The following additions would be particularly helpful:
A Created timestamp for each rule, showing the date and time in the user’s local timezone.
A visible Last Updated timestamp, complementing the existing sorting option.
Sorting by creation date, with newest-first and oldest-first options.
Date filters within folders, such as Today, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, and a custom date range.
Separate creation and modification timestamps, so editing a rule does not obscure when it was originally added.
For example, selecting “Created in the last 7 days” within my Bypass folder would let me quickly locate a recent exception, review why I added it, or remove it after troubleshooting—even if I had edited older rules since then.
The existing sorting options are appreciated. Adding visible timestamps and date-based filtering would make managing large folders and reviewing recent changes much easier.
Thanks for considering this improvement.
