Venezuela Routing Optimization & Aggressive ISP Censorship (Fibex Telecom)
Hello Control D Team,
I am a user from Venezuela and I'd like to suggest some routing optimizations for our region, as well as report aggressive ISP-level blocking from my provider (Fibex Telecom).
1. Routing & Peering:
Currently, routing from local Venezuelan ISPs to Control D's Anycast nodes can become highly unstable during peak hours, resulting in severe jitter and packet loss. It would be amazing if the network team could look into better peering arrangements or more direct transit routes for Venezuelan ASNs to improve latency and stability.
2. Severe ISP Censorship (Twitter, Control D, and Windscribe blocked):
Fibex Telecom has recently implemented aggressive blocks. Not only are they blocking Twitter (X) at the DNS level, but they are also blocking access to your own website (controld.com) and especially Windscribe (windscribe.com). I literally cannot load the Windscribe website to manage my accounts without turning on a VPN first.
While using Control D via Private DNS (DoT/DoH) is the main workaround for general censorship, the ISP actively attempts to intercept, throttle, or block these secure connections. Any future enhancements to bypass this aggressive ISP blocking, or specific Proxy routing rules to ensure your own domains and social media remain accessible here, would be a game-changer.
Thank you for the continuous updates and great work!
