No logging on free resolvers clause removed from privacy policy
22 hours ago
Control D's privacy policy used to include the following:
When you use ControlD, we keep the following data associated with your account:
- Timestamp of your last activity in the dashboard or apps
- Your source IP address which is required to make ControlD work
This only applies to Premium resolvers that enforce custom DNS profiles. Free resolvers listed on the homepage do not store this or any other data including but not limited to IP addresses, timestamps or DNS queries themselves.
This section was removed with the v2.0.6 update (supposedly).
The docs page for the free resolvers still state this:
What They Do / Don’t Do
What They Do
- [...]
- Not store logs (no individual browsing history, timestamps, or query logs)
Has this policy been removed intentionally? Does Control D now log DNS queries made to resolvers available without an account?
If so, was this done to "train [your] algorithmic models"?
