Support Portuguese (260M Speakers) with pt-BR Localization
I’d like to propose full Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR) support for the Control D dashboard, utility app, and documentation.
Portuguese is one of the most spoken languages in the world, with over 260 million speakers globally, and it is widely recognized as the most spoken language in the Southern Hemisphere. Brazil alone represents a very large and growing technical user base.
Why this matters:
Improve accessibility for millions of Portuguese-speaking users
Reduce configuration mistakes in an advanced networking/security product
Lower support burden through clearer UX
Increase adoption in Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking markets
Strengthen Control D’s global reach
For security and infrastructure products, localization is more than convenience — it improves usability and can reduce operational risk.
A phased approach could work well:
Dashboard translation (pt-BR)
Utility App translation
Documentation and knowledge base localization
Even partial support would already provide significant value.
There is also a strategic opportunity here. Major technology platforms increasingly invest in localization as part of product adoption, and Portuguese support could further strengthen Control D’s position among privacy, security, and networking users in Latin America and other Lusophone markets.
Brazil has a strong and growing community of homelab, cybersecurity, privacy, and infrastructure enthusiasts who would likely welcome and support this.
I believe Portuguese localization would be a meaningful improvement for both the product and a large global user community.
Thank you for considering this request — I’d be happy to help validate translations or contribute community feedback if useful.
