Why DoT over ip got removed?

So before the DoT update control d had feature (that most other dns providers still have) which is when you set your legacy dns like 76.76.2.1xx on your device it automatically attemps to send queries over port 853 rather than 53 (Private dns) and it was a great combination with DDns

But apparently it got removed with no plan to add back support for something that controld had like ever other Dns provider even NextDns

But why?its good for both security and privacy of the legacy dns
