Android App - "Block connections without VPN" breaks connection

Hi ControlD team,

I'm running into an issue when using ControlD's DNS app on Android.

When I enable both "Always-on VPN" and "Block connections without VPN", my internet connection stops working entirely. Is this expected behavior due to how Android handles VPN-based DNS filtering, or could there be another issue?

The reason I want to enable "Block connections without VPN" is to ensure that all traffic is filtered and not bypassed—I've noticed that filtering can occasionally be inconsistent otherwise.

Because of this issue, I’m currently using the Private DNS option instead, but it doesn’t offer the same control as the VPN-based method.

Would appreciate any guidance or workarounds for this!
